PyroFend, a FireSafe Innovations Technology

PyroFend®, a phenolic resin based material, has unique protection properties keeping fire, water and thermal penetration to a minimum. It is completely non-toxic during fire conditions, lightweight and can be molded to suit any configuration and application.

This is a 30mm PyroFend® sample after exposure to a 1700°F (927°C) fire for one hour.

FireSafe Innovations' unique lightweight technology, PyroFend®, can be cast to any shape or form. PyroFend® features include: 

  • Lightweight
  • High temperature resistance
  • High mechanical strength
  • Very low smoke
  • Passive fire resistant panels, enclosures, hybrids, layered composites, and sandwich panels.

PyroFend® can also be used as an adhesive forming a chemical bond between many materials.  FSI utilizes PyroFend® as our lightweight technology and is currently used  in or is in testing in the following markets:
